Above and Beyond Awards

Mistine Turner has worked as a Para Educator for Clover Park School District for almost 25 years. During that time,  she has been active on various levels in the Special Needs Roadeo. She also helps oversee the wheelchair securement and ramp operation for driver and Para Educator recertification at the summer special needs training.  

Mistine is known as a rare individual who is truely there for the benifit of the students. She always greets each student by name and with a smile. Her students safety is her first priority, followed closely with their mental well-being. While the students are loading and being secured, she will quiz them on their night, their weekend or what they are doing in school for the day. This conversation happens if the student is verbal, non-verbal, awake or asleep.  In doing this, they depart for school each day with a happy and positive outlook on the day.
